Total theater and aleatoric music are two of the most extreme forms of musical practice of the second half of the twentieth century. Total theater, of which one of its most important figures speaks, Argentine composer Mauricio Kagel, consists in the union of diverse expressive media that come from different artistic disciplines, whereas aleatoric music, introduced by its founder, American composer John Cage, is the opening of a work to all the range of possibilities deployed by chance.
