Grazie al gentile e generoso contributo di John David Fullemann, la sezione di johncage.it che descrive il mancato happening di Montestella D’Ivrea 1979 si arricchisce di nuovi particolari cari a quanti apprezzano la musica elettronica.
Sono adesso disponibili alcune immagini e dettagli tecnici dei microfoni a contatto che sarebbero stati utilizzati se il progetto fosse andato in porto. John era infatti il tecnico che avrebbe assistito Cage nell’impresa. Insieme alle apparecchiature per Montestella sono descritte anche quelle usate per altri brani di Cage come Cartridge Music, Atlas Eclipticalis e Branches.
Purtroppo le cose andarono diversamente e la sonorizzazione di quell’area è rimasta una chimera… ma ora sappiamo ancor di più come le cosa sarebbero potute essere sotto il profilo tecnologico.

Thanks to the kind and generous contribution of John David Fullemann, the Montestella 1979 area of johncage.it now features more details probably dear to who appreciates electronic music.
Images and textual instructions of the contact microphones which would have been employed if the project had been accomplished. John was the sound engineer and technician who would have assisted Cage on this occasion. The equipment used in other compositions by Cage – such as Cartridge Music, Atlas Eclipticalis and Branches – is also described.
Unfotunately things didn’t turn out fine and the sonorization of that area remained a dream… but now we know better how things should have been from a technological perspective.
